Description
This photo shot "The drinking Mallard Duck" shows a mallard duck drinking before reaching the lakeshore. The image shows a specimen of Mallard Duck (Anas platyrhynchos), one of the most widespread and well-known wild ducks. It is a semi-aquatic aquatic bird belonging to the Anatidae family. The female, like the one in the image, has brown camouflage plumage with shades of beige to brown, which makes her less visible to predators, especially during incubation.
The male, on the other hand, has more vibrant colors, with a bright dark green head and neck and a white collar. The mallard is the ancestor of most domestic duck breeds.
It feeds mainly in water, soaking its head and neck to filter the bottom.
